Hello,
Is it normal for fan speed to ramp up with the CPU usage. Even with Cpu at 30% the fan is cranking. Very anoying. The system itself is cool.

Yes, that is how the system manages to keep the CPU relatively cool. I assume you are referring to the fan on the CPU heatsink, is that correct? Are you using a stock, OEM HSF with your CPU? If so, you might want a more effcient and effective aftermarket HSF. Just something to think about.

Thanks for your reply. I'm just a little puzzled since it just started recently. Dell system I've had for a year. Is there more than one fan? Duh
