recently i updated my msi 870A-G54 bios to 17.C. After BIOS update, it will not recogninze 4 gb of ram that is installed that worked forever. It recognizes 2gb...i boot into windows and it shows 4gb installed (2gb usable). Can anyone help with this?

I have Exactly the same problem!!!
when i tried to update the bios it gave me this message

and then i accepted it...
after that when i restart the system, in the first screen of booting the system it says that i have 2048 mb!!!
and i tried to even downgrade my bios version but it didnt helped...
its ridiclous...
in win 7 x64 i have 4 gb ram and 2gb usable...
the way i figuered it doesnt work on Dualchannel mode but if install the memories in for example 1&3 slots or 2&4 slots its working fine! but why?

I have the same problem. On 17.A memory (2x4GB) BIOS worked as 1 & 2 (manual) - after the upgrade to 17.C correctly detects only as 1 & 4 and 2 & 3 Strange because 1 & 3 - 2 & 4 is the configuration of the new AM3+ mobos on chipset ATI 9XX series then i will be ok.?. The problem is probably with addressing and memory support new CPU-s in AM3 +, which can support the BIOS-17.C. The second problem is the HT link is 2000 Mhz for 17.A and 17.C has as default 2600 Mhz?
