When montaging a CPU to a motherboard, the thermal paste under the CPU fan is applied automatically because of its place. But,if one wanted to replace the motherboard yet keep the CPU,what should be done?
Do you simply take off the CPU and the fan and put them to the new motherboard exactly the same way,or should the paste be renewed?
Are there any other things to watch out?

Thanks

You are right! The paste should be renewed. Clean the surface of the processor and the bottom of the cooler then set the processor to the new mainboard, attach paste and set the cooler.

Are you using the original cooler sold with the processor? If so, be careful that it might be difficult to remove it from the processor.
