Fresh build, not displaying anything, cpu prob??

hey guys

I have recently been building a sidekick for my monster pc, purchased everything and its all plugged in and everything seems to be working fine except not displaying anything on the monitor, i have read the troubleshooting guide for this problem but still not fixed.

the motherboard is a GA-M68SM-S2L mobo with a AMD AM3 X2 245 2.9GHz CPU but seeing as its a fresh build there is no os installed and the mobo requires a bios update to be compatible with a am3 cpu

Could this be the problem and how would i go about resolving it?

Go to the gigabyte website note the model GA-M68SM-S2L and also the motherboard rev no find it on your motherboard then download the specific BIOS update for your motherboard. You may need to insert the old cpu to update the BIOS before you can insert the new cpu.
