Hello everyone,

My 4 year old P5K won't start up anymore. The only thing suggesting the device is not totally broke, is a fast flashing LED (about 5 flashes per second) on the board.

I tried:
- flashing CMOS
- Removing USB / SATA / VGA / Memory / PCI cards
- Replacing battery
All without any effect. The system still doesn't boot, no beeps, only a fast flashing LED.

A few days ago, the system had trouble booting and the LED was infrequently flashing. At some point the LED continuesly lighted up and I could boot the machine. But that doesn't happen anymore.

Anyone any clue what the issue is and what I can do?

Thanks,
Guido.

Ofcourse, the LED is an power indicator. First of all, the PSU was full of dust, so I cleaned it. Then it was clear, a capacitor was broke, probebly more. So I replaced the PSU and it works again!!! Restoring the flashed BIOS and I'm totally happy again. Thanks for the support.
