Hard Drive fails smart test day after installation...

Is it possible that I merely formatted it wrong or something? It's a Western Digital Black, acting as a secondary drive to my ssd. Is there anything I could have messed up in the installation process, or is it most likely an irreparably-damaged drive?

I ran HDDScan and it shows a big X next to Raw Read Error Rate, as well as
an exclamation point in a yellow triangle for Current Pending Errors Count, which, according to a thread ON THE FRONT PAGE, which I really should have checked out before making this, means that the drive is likely dead for realsies? Yeah?
