Hard disk dead ??? Can i still recover data ?

I dropeed my hdd today from about 3 feet high.

The hard disk was inside the sunbeamtech hdd usb external enclosure.

The hard disk is not detected at all. I opened it up , it runs for 10-15 secs and shuts itself off.

I really want my data back – its a 1 tb seagate 7200.12 drive , i have atleast 400 gb worth of important data that i must recover.

Please please help!!!

I don't think that you can do this yourself. There is likely internal physical damage, and the most likely way to retrieve any data is to send it to a data recovery service where they can take the drive apart and pull the data off.

If your data is important then you must have a backup.
