Athlon x4 630 ram compatibility

Hey all
I'm wondering if the

AMD Athlon II X4 630 2.80 GHz
will be compatible with (not sure if the cpu supports the ram)
Corsair Dominator 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz (CMD4GX3M2A1600C9)
on this mobo:
Giga-byte GA-880GM-UD2H (rev. 1.0)

Would it post at all with the ram even if it wasn't compatible with the cpu?

RAM compatibility is more motherboard dependent than CPU.. Check the motherboard manual to know if it supports 1600 MHz RAM modules.. If it does, then you are all good..

Yeah the mobo does support it, the only different in the support list is that the ram is C8 instead of the ram i have which is C9.

It wont post even with out ram.

System will surely not post without RAM.. CAS value does not matter when it comes to compatibility.. Its voltage and frequency of operation that matter..

sorry ermm newbie on the not posting without ram!

Well seems the problem is that power and reset switch have a problem.

With power switch and reset switch correctly place of the f panel pins(as stated by manual) when the power button was pressed all fans and lights came on but no post beep. then if i held the reset button down the cpu fan sped up and it posted.

no ive removed reset switch and all seems fine at the moment.

Its very bizzare to me why that would happen!

Oh and the ram has been detected as 1333Mhz instead of 1600Mhz.

Your problem was indeed bizzare.. Though happy to know that it is resolved now.. Those f_panel connections can really get confusing sometimes.. As for the RAM, you can manually set the correct speed and timings in the BIOS..
