New mobo and x-fi...difficulties..

Ok, so i just made a new build with the EVGA p55 ftw 200. Its a great set up so far, but I have a x-fi xtremegamer sound card I want to install. I'm pretty sure I'm plugging it into the pci slot but it seems almost painful to push in. Like I'm gonna break something painful. Which is the last thing I want to do obviously. Any suggestions? Is that not a PCI slot I see? Can I use one of the extra pci-e slots? Am I just SOL? Any suggestions would be great, kinda annoying. Thanks in advance for your help.

That board has 1 pci slot in the middle of those 4 pciex16 slots. Perhaps the metal bracket on the card is hanging up on part of the case that its supposed to 'slip' into.
