i had it checked out and it came back it was fualty.
a replacement was sent and i had the same problem, i had it test again and it came back it was working.

More about : question

thanks for reply and giving me link.
i have to spend the night going through it all and testing.
once again thank you and ill post back tommorow.

will you also come back to my post?

also do you know if a mobo shows power if the cpu is fualty ie green light comes on.
Motherboard Authority

Various mobo's use various fault codes, some are beeps, some have lights,
its best to check your particular model on the manf's website for clarification but yes, I'll get a blue flag when you reply so I'll check in tomorrow mate

If you're new then there could be a lot of possible issues and most are in the wiring and power.

Verify: Main 24-Pin, CPU 8-Pin, and GPU __-Pin are ALL connected. Next, IF you mis-wired the Headers then that too will cause a post failure; therefore for 'now' disconnect ALL header connections. RAM use the 2nd/A2 and 4th/B2 {light tan} DIMM slots. Reseat the RAM and GPU to make certain that they are full seated and snapped-in.

The Headers are not required for the MOBO to post.

Q - Are there any RED LEDs on? {CPU, DRAM, or VGA especially}

fantastic news
a family friend knows about computers.
when i put the pc together the screw for the mobo wernt long enough to attach to the case so i used my own, these ended up stopping the pc running. :)
kind of funny
anyway thanks for the help
thanks

You didnt have the mobo sat on the standoffs I'm guessing?
that would explain the frying of the original mobo :p
well, lesson learned and hopefully no longterm damage done :)
