Best brand for dvd drives

whichis the best brand for dual layer rewritable dvd drive and also need price details

I find Sony, Samsung and LG to be top tier. The SATA models with Lightscribe Support run from 17-30 dollars on www.newegg.com

As do I, after spending a year in Korea(LG is Korean) and seeing all their innovation, I prefer them for most things. Hence my TV, and DVD-RW.

My Samsung is still up and running up until now. It only costs around $17 here.

DVD drives are all so similar. Ive never had a problem with any brand, I just get the cheapest one that is not a no-name brand (sony, lg, asus etc..) Although My LG is noisy. The ASUS one i have is much quieter.

I've used Samsung, Sony, LG, Liteon, Pioneer, Acer, Panasonic, and even a Maddog which turned out to be rebranded Panasonic... They all have servered well. Stick to 4 and 5 eggers on Newegg and you rarely will be steered wrong. The one I like the most is my samsung that reads the dvd-ram disks from my samsung dvd-recorder (tv)
