Hi there,

My G raid drive is making an awful noise on startup and I don't think either of the drives are going to last very long http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPjvASx_x_o&list=UUafgdrBnZabyhHup0RqHDNw&index=1&feature=plcp
It is fitted with two 500gb hitachi drives that are hitachi deskstar hdp725050gla360 drives.
Would it be feasable for me to replace them with two 1GB deskstar drives like these?

Are the connections all the same?
Thanks, any/all advice appreciated

Hi Simon,

the current HDDs in your G raid are SATA drives so yes you can replace them with bigger ones. The disk in your link is a SATA disk so it would be OK. You might want to speak to the manufacturer how to replace them (thinking about the type of RAID used).
