I'm going to Bangkok, Hong Kong, Taiwan and China in early January and
want to get a new digital camera. My choice has fallen on the Canon
PowerShot SD300 / IXUS40 (have an old Ixus V2 that needs replacing
now).
Which of the above places is the best for shopping a Canon camera? Any
advice welcommed :-)
Cheers,
Kristoffer

In about 20+ years of business travel and being an photography enthusiast (and
also part time pro) I have found that generally it is hard to beat the NYC
stores for new gear. And especially now that the dollar is relatively weak,
this is more true. Don't let that stop you from buying overseas...just keep a
copy of Pop Photo or Shutterbug with you to compare price as you shop!
Sometimes you can find products that are new and have not yet been imported to
the US, too.

How do you know he lives in the US? Especially he said he has an old
Ixus V2, instead of Elph xxx.

:-) Good point Leo.
Living in Europe (expensive Denmark) so I trust prices to be cheaper in
Asia. The old Ixus V2 was bought in Singapore at a good price, but
unfortunately not going to Sin this time..
