HI, I want to manually configure my RAM in the bios to check if the auto settings is the cause of my pc crashing in games. I have 2x 2GB Apacer DDR3 1333Mhz DIMM's on a MSI 790GX GD65 mobo. Can someone please give me the values for these settings:

CL ; tRCD ; tRP ; tRAS ; tRTP ; tRC ; tWR ; tRRD ; tWTR ; tRFC0 ; tRFC1 ; tRFC2 ; tRFC3 ; tRWTTO ; tWRWR ; tRDRD.

I know the values for CL ; tRCD ; tRP ; tRAS ; tRC must be 9 ; 9 ; 9 ; 24 ; 33.

He needs to make sure he's not exceeding his memory controller's spec. For his system, the mem controller is part of the CPU (that's why I asked what CPU he has). At 1333, he's probably ok. Just needs to make sure. If he's actually running at 1600, that's technically an overclock and could be his problem. :)

I would also suggest you to have a look at the Voltage settings of your RAM, as they too can cause instability which can result in crashes. You need to ensure that voltage settings in BIOS are exactly the same as on RAM's spec sheet. Also, many boards leave voltage settings as 'Auto' which too doesn't mean everything will work right out of the box, hence, the need to manually adjust this issue. Regards

Ok, I'll revise my original wording to:
those settings are the only ones you need to alter timingswise, although you may need to tweak the voltage slightly for best stability
I posted at stupid o clock after a nightshift and oversimplified the message :)

You are good to go at 1333 MHz with that processor. Seeing your RAM voltage manually, as Archean said, might help if your RAM is actually the cause of your instability.

Easiest is to use CPU-z http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html next look at the rightmost column under the SPD tab.

Problem under the Default settings the RAM 'shouldn't' crash you system, and if it does then you have a bigger problem. IMO Load Defaults in the BIOS and reset you other settings e.g. AHCI, and create a bootable CD/DVD of Memtest86+ {ISO/zip} run for 2 passes. If there's no errors then you should run MSCONFIG -> Diagnostic and see if the problem goes away. If it does then you've got an OS conflict. Other thoughts are overheating, use HWMonitor or similar Temp App and stress the system with Prime 95 and 3DMark.

Thanks jaquith for that reply. After reading it I opened AMD Overdrive to check the voltages and noticed this strange values. Can someone please tell me what it means. I think it might be the cause of my crashes.

Ignore amd overdrivel, in fact remove it from your pc altogether
D.load hardware monitor as Jaquith said, that will give you more accurate information, I dont know what your chip is**Edit amd965, read above post after posting rant :p,
but I bet you've used A.C.C. to unlock it or have used Ez oc option in bios?
once you use that your sys info is screwed on amd's interface, it showed my temps as 0', I had 18 fans in there at the time, but no way was I at freezing point lol

The absolute zero temp and high tension wire voltage are 'NULL' values because the probe for those items doesn't exist -- ignore them; some Apps do those goofy values I wish the programmers left them blank.

I do NOT recommend ANY CPU OC apps - period, do it manually. It's not that complex and there's an obscene number of good posts to aide you in OC. About the only OC App I recommend is MSI Afterburner for GPU(s).

It seems the memory is not the cause of my crash. Thanx everyone for your replies. I really hoped this could be the fix for my problem.
