Hey guys, so i got a buddie with a problem with his computer. ever since i think yesterday his computer shutdown due to overheated NB and possibly South bridge. At first i just figured maybe the heat sink just fell off or got moved. When i opened it nothing had moved everything was in place, It was a little dusty so i cleaned it spotless with some canned air. Now that the PC is completely clean and i turned it back on i went into the Temperature Monitor in Bios and you could watch the NB slowly increase by around .5-1C. I not sure what is wrong here. My friend said it take about 2 hours from a cold start before it will overheat and shutdown.

Are there any blown caps, usually pretty easy to see since they ooze out of their splits. Also, what is the brand and model of the mobo? Removing the CPU, cleaning it and adding some new arctic silver may be worth giving a try.
