I just bought an XFX 5850, I had an Asus 4890 that broke down. I am trying to launch Dragons Age, or Mass Effect 2 and I am told "Error initializing Physx, please visit nvidia.com/physx for updated drivers." what doesn't make sense to me is installing http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx-9.10.0224-driver.htm... with an ATI card, maybe I'm wrong, thats why I am asking.
You need to install the physX package thats on the install cd's for those games. Usually under distributable . Metro and NFS shift require them as well. Even if you don't have a Nvidia card, some of the game engine coding is done via that.
hm.. so i must have uninstalled those on accident not realizing what they were in DriverSweeper, I do remember selecting to get rid of several nvidia items, thinking they were from an nvidia card i was using while my 5850 was on the way. bad news, i used steam to get those games. anyway to install physx on those games without having to download them again?
