GTX460 signal not detected by display terminal

I've built a new system around a Core i7 950 CPU, a Gigabyte-x58-UD5, Corsair Dominator GT 6 GB PC3-16000 RAM, Antec CP850 power supply, RunCore Pro IV 128GB 2.5" SATA Solid State Main Drive, Samsung SpinPoint 1TB Storage Drive, and Gigabyte GTX460 1 GB GPU inside an Antec P183 Case.

I've linked the GTX 460 DVI-I port to a Dell ST2310 Monitor with a brand new Dynex DVI-D cable and set the monitor for DVI-D.

When I start the machine and after the screen remains blank for about 15 seconds, the Dell Monitor goes into Power Save mode and tells me it is not receiving a signal from the GPU. The monitor's Power Save mode has been a bother on my old machine, which I'm able to fix with a restart. Because I can prompt the additional message that the terminal is not receiving the signal, I don't believe the signal problem is in the terminal. The graphics card is powered and its fans are working.

Has anyone else encountered this issue? Any ideas for solving it?

I'll appreciate any feedback to this thread.

Try a different monitor.

As it turned out, I had plugged the power supply into the 24-pin ATX socket on the motherboard only and not into the 12-pin ATX 12 volt 2x socket as well. Once it was powered correctly, everything worked perfectly. My mistake.
