I haven't built a home computer since my AMD 4400x2...so this quad core thing is new. but when I got xp64 installed I noticed I had 8 cores(only did this so I could do win7) then I noticed, I still had 8 cores! Is this something new to have 2 logical cores per physical? Neat bonus, didn't expect it...but just wanted to make sure. Was about to go to intel.com and look for any cpu drivers...but if this legit I don't want to dl anything!

took a screenshot of resource manager and task manager...

Four physical cores in the I7 930, however each core is able to hyperthread (2 per core generally). Therefore the total amount of logical cores is 8 and that is the number given.
