On boot up shows it only glimpses of boot up

i have an HP desktop, i recently went to look at the DDR's. the computer was working fine before i turned it off, opened the tower and took out one stick of ram, and then just put it back, nothing else, now when i turned the computer back on, it only shows glimpses of the boot-up prossess but doesnt allow me to do anything, then it just shows nothing, the tower is running fine and I've checked all the wiring. plz hlp

Unplug power ac from psu, remove ram clean slot with bruses , remove battery in mobo, let 10 minute, if you have vga addon remove (try use vga onboard) put ram in first slot just use 1 stick ram, put baterry back ro mb, plug power ac to psu , try turn on pc , do you hear beep ..?

haha unfortunatly the sound card is messed up and haven't been able to replace it as of yet

ok I HEAR A BEEP WHEN I TAKE OUT THE RAM STICKS, AND THE COMPUTER DOESN'T BOOT, BUT WHEN I STICK ONLY ONE BACK IN IT DOES THE SAME AS BEFORE AND ONLY SHOWS A SHORT GLIMPSE OF THE START-UP
