Hi everyone, and thanks in advance for your help. I am trying to put together a gaming PC, nothing crazy. I'd like to play WoW and SC maxed out, and have the computer be a bit future safe/upgradeable. Here's what I have so far:
Might want to follow the guidlines from the link in my signature. We really need a budget before we can give good advice.
The first thing I notice is the X4 965. The 955 is cheaper, and they're the same CPU. The 965 just has a slight factory overclock that isn't necessary.
Second, you didn't pick out a very future proof board. It's an older model (a good one), but doesn't have USB 3/SATA III support, meaning you won't be able to use the new devices coming out to their fullest extent. I'd take a look at some other boards, such as the Gigabyte GA-790XTA-UD4 or ASRock 870 Extreme 3 (there are others, but I can't think of them off the top of my head).
For the case, there are a lot of choices. Check out the Antec 300, Antec 300 Illusion, Antec 900 or 902, Coolermaster Centurion 5, Coolermaster 690, and HAF 922. All of those are excellent cases that can be found for decent prices.
The PSU is a lot easier. You'll want a 650W (if you want to Crossfire and do a little overclocking) or 750W (if you want a big overclock on everything and add a bunch of other items). To ensure quality, I'd only look at units from Antec, Corsair, Silverstone, SeaSonic and XFX.
