Laptop won't recognise modem

Hello,

I recently purchased the HP mini 210 HD with Windows 7 starter installed. Initially the computer would not connect with my MT 882 modem. After fiddling with some adapter settings, I managed to make it work for half a day. Now again, the netbook behaves as if there is no modem, totally fails to recognise it. Please Help!! on the other hand, when connected to another connection with the same ISP using a D-Link modem via a Gigabyte router, it connects just fine.

I assume you mean cable modem?

Maybe the problem isn't with the laptop, but the cable modem, since you say it works with the other combo.
