I have a Compaq Armada M300, I want to link the laptop to my stereo
set. To play Classical music.
I do not think my laptop has a digital (audio) out line. But it has an
USB 1.1 port and a LAN connection and a slot for cards.
Can anybody help me - please.
I would also like to have a remote controll to be able to change
tracks.

Your notebook probably has a headphone jack. You could get a wire which has
a 3.5mm male connector on 1 end and 2 rca connectors on the other and
connect them to your stereo (obviously if you stereo has 2 rca inputs). Or,
you could get a usb external soundcard, such as the sound blaster extigy.
