I'm looking for feedback on this computer build from dell.com. I plan on occasionally using this system for gaming and I realize the graphics card isn't high end; I'm wondering how capably this system could play games like Starcraft 2 and Civ 5. I don't have much experience with computer details so any help or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks
Also, I know I could probably get a better deal putting a computer together myself but I would rather purchase a pre-built.

Processor: AMD Phenom II X6 1035T
Graphics Card: ATI Radeon HD 5670 1 GB
Memory: 4 GB Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1333 MHz - 2 DIMMS
Hard Drive: 1TB 7200 RPM, SATA 3.0 Gb/s, 16 MB cache
Price - $750

Should be able to handle starcraft 2 at medium settings, should be able to do a bit better with Civ V.

What else will you be using this system for? The X6's are clocked lower so they arent good for things that only use up to 4 cores and will get beaten by a 955 or 965.

Thanks for the reply.

Besides gaming, I'll mostly be using it for school work, the internet, and viewing pictures.

If you think the X4 would be better, I could get a system for about the same price (my budget is $1000 including a moniter) with:

Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 945
the same graphics card - ATI Radeon 5670 1 GB
Memory: 8 GB Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1333 MHz - 4 DIMMS
Hard Drive: 640 GB 7200 RPM SATA
Price - $800

Do you think this is a better deal?

Alright thanks, I really appreciate the help. I have one last question; do you think I would get better performance out of the X6 1055t, or should I stick with the X4 945.

I just purchased almost the same exact system. However I got the Radeon 5770 and 8 gigs of RAM and a few other minor additions ie wireless card, etc. I play alot of different games, Aion, WOW, many Star Wars games, Starcraft, Halo, and haven't had a single problem with lagging, system speed, or anything else while running all games at max settings. I usually also have a movie on Netfilx or HULU running on my other monitor while I'm playing and still don't have any problems. I paid $699 for mine. It was also a Gateway. I should probably add that it had a 1.5 TB Hard drive, Phenom II X6 1035T, ATI Radeon 5770 Graphics 1 gig mem, 8 gigs DDR3-1333 RAM on mother. I got it at Micro Center, I think they ship.
