Current i7-940XM: 2.13Ghz Quad, turbo up to 3.3Ghz, wiki release price: $1096

Sandy Bridge i7

i7-2920XM 2.5Ghz Quad, turbo up to 3.5Ghz
i7-2820QM 2.3Ghz Quad, turbo up to 3.4Ghz
i7-2720QM 2.2Ghz Quad, turbo up to 3.3Ghz

From the way I see it, i7-2720QM seems to be a follow up of i7-720QM (1.6Ghz Quad, turbo up to 2.8, wiki release price: $364) but its specs are higher than the current i7-940XM!

I'm thinking of waiting until I can get a Sandy Bridge Quad core notebook under $1300.... But looking at the specs, it seems that intel could price the new sandy bridge even higher than i7-940XM! Does anyone have a rough idea of how much the i7-2720QM would cost? Thanks!

One-hundred million dollars?

I just got a BSOD on my crystal ball so I can't tell you just yet - you might just have to wait until the thing's actually released like the rest of us mortals...

So are YOU the guy that ran off with the last palantir? How's the Dark Lord Sauron doing these days?

He's doing well, although still brooding about some piece of jewellery he lost - you'd think after about 1,000 years he'd just accept it's gone.

I hope it turns up though, if even to just stop the moaning.
