ibm r40e hibernate problem

i own a ibm laptop r40e celeron based cpu runnning on win xp sp2.
problems: whenever my laptop went into hibernate / standby mode, the laptop
will not wake up when i press the fn key or even the power button.
i have tried updating the latest drivers for this laptop but the problem
still there. i hav to remove the battery and then restart it.
anyone has this problem? any solution?

May be not, but I would try this: I would uncheck Hibernate option in
Power Options, Hibernate. Reboot and make sure that in c:\, the file
hiberfil.sys has been deleted (which is the file use to hibernate).
Delete it if it is still there. Then, check Hibernate again in Power
Options, reboot and try to hibernate.

Do make sure that you have enough room on drive c: for the file
hiberfil.sys to be created successfully. It is roughly equal to the
amount of RAM of your machine.

help....the problem come back again ...any idea wat is the cause?

Then, I guess the usual applies: have you updated your hardware drivers,
researched IBM's site? Then try disabling the programs that start-up
automatically with Windows, see if the problem is solved and then
restoring them one by one. I would first suspect anything related to
communications.
