No signal detected?

I bought a brand new computer a few days ago. And now i have put it together.
But when i connect my monitor (BENQ G2420HDBL 24" WIDE LED BLACK) to the PC it just comes up "No signal detected" and then it goes into stand by mode. I use a DVI cable.

Intel Core i7 930

Asus GTX 260 896MB
Cooler Master Silent PRO 850 Watt

Any idea what the problem is?

Silly question, this looks to be something you built.. are you sure the power is coming on propery? Are you hearing the drives and fans spin up?

yes, i have checked all fans, the CDdrive and the harddrive they are all working the way they should

Try reseating the GPU.... I had the same problem with my 260 a few times. And yup, just had to reseat it and it came back on.

Another thing, does the card need external power? Is that connected?

the graphic card wasnt completly inside the motherboardslot first time i tried so i took it out and put it back in. Still same problem

The power is connected to the card. The fan is spinning

Oo.. that may not be good. Any chance you have another system to try the card in? If it was partway in, bad electrical things could have happened.

No i can't try it in another system i'm afraid.
But what could have been damaged? like i said all fans and drives are still working

The connectors on the card could have gotten zapped, maybe something else in it.

Could be a bad card to. That's why you'd want to try it in another working system to rule out any of your other hardware.

If you really can't find another PC that will run that card, your options may be to try another video card, or return your card and try a new one.

Ye i am gonna try with another monitor if that doesnt work im gonna send back the video card.

Same problem (and same monitor) here, but mine works with a VGA cable... So it might be a monitor/cable problem... Does the card have any kind of analog output?
You haven't mentioned... does your MB beep at POST to let you know it's found a GPU? Or do you get error beeps? There should be an explanation of beeps in the manual.
