12GB of ram is overkill it is completely unnecessary unless you are using photoshop of running a highend wor station

Would recomend the GA-X58-Ud3R over that motherboard

i would then suggest the OCZ vertex2 60Gb SSD

Memory http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

SSDhttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

I would suggest the 5770 over the GTX 260 but if you want Nvidia go ahead, or you could wait until the Gts 450 is released

Then get the antec-TP 550w

12GB ram is not overkill if you are using it for virtual machines.. I will have 5 or 6 running at any given time, as well as other applications.

Also, why would I want to spend 20 some dollars more and get, what looks to me, a worse drive.. Please explain why you think it is a better drive. Looking at the specs the other drive has much better read times..

For video I would suggest either ATI 5830 or Nvidia GTX 460. The newer video card tech will be better for your gaming. The ATI 5830 will let you use 3 monitors from one video card. The Nvidia GTX 460 is highly overclockable. Both are great cards.

The RealSSD drives are only good with an OS that supports TRIM. If your main OS (not VM) is not Windows 7 or the newest version of Linux, you don't want the RealSSD. I'm not sure if the TRIM supporting Linux kernel is even out yet.
