Hi my external hard drive just stop working and i got USB 2.0 universal hard drive data transfer cable but when i remove the hard drive from casing try locating the hard its saying 0000 or if i wish to format hard drive. Is there another way to recover my data from the hard drive?

there is commercial software that can recover files, if the drive is working and has just become corrupted. If the drive is truly broken, it can be repaired but will require an identical drive to move the platters into. The data would have to be really important to you for that.
