I dont feel like dropping down 2-3 grand on a think laptop, (unfortunately, i need it sort of not so think so i can carry it to school without worries). I was thinking of buying one off newegg.com, (do they usually give out good deals on laptops?) I was thinking of getting one of these 2, the links are below. I was not sure if those were on board video cards or not, because i know those hold u back a lot no matter what you other specs are (the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5730 and NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M). my limit is around 1200 american dollars.

Asus laptops have good reviews. Toshiba laptops are also rated high.

Set "Power" options to maximize battery life (as opposed to Performance)
