Hello.

I'm a bit confused with this fan shizzel.

Basically I want quiet cooling, nothing above 20dB.

The fan controller I intend to get is the NZXT Sentry 2

http://www.nzxt.com/new/products/fan_control/sentry_2

It says "Full compatibility with all types of fans using voltage control".

So I want to know exactly what I should be looking for.

For example would PWM fans be compatible?

Would appreciate some help :)

It looks like basically any 12 volt fan(s) will work fine with it. You could probably even go with a small 5 volt fan or two. I'm basing this off looking at the specs for the LXE version, as the one you are looking at doesn't have any specs listed on the page.

The fans I was going to go for are:

3x http://www.scan.co.uk/products/120mm-coolermaster-sickleflow-blue-led-quiet-case-fan
2x http://www.ebuyer.com/product/110716

Would they be okay? Even though they don't come with any kind of control originally?

The controller comes with both the traditional 3 pin and molex connectors :D

So, does this controller basically work by sending less than 12Volts down the line, so the fans receive less volts and therefore run at slower speeds?

Thanks for all your help by the way :D

Yeah, I was experimenting though (with fans that are quite a few years old 12V), trying to run them at 9V and they didn't run at all, however they are really old.
