Phenom 965 BE Dead - Please Help

Hi,

I have Phenom II 965 BE, Its on Stock Cooler and is not overclocked.

the problem occured when I was doing 3D rendering, I was monitoring the CPU temps when Temps crossed 82c the system turned off and never started again.

I know the 82c is not normal but it happend because the heatsink fan stopped working, what u think is my CPU dead?

At work I have seen my i7 950 going 100c because of bad fan but even then the CPU survived and is still working.

I have tried diffrent PSU but still no boot. or is it my mobo? (the mobo is powering up i can see several LED's turned on) please advise me what to do to find out what is the problem.

Do you get any beeps? The thermal limit is lower on an AMD CPU than an Intel. If it was a box CPU with original fan you can try the 3 year warranty.

Have you tried unplugging the pc from the wall for a bit. This is sometimes needed when the unit has shut down due to thermal limits.

Can you recal what temp you set the motherboard to shutdown at?
