Need advice with my new gaming pc (i am pc noob)

need suggestion what parts should i change or what part you reccomend
feel free to post everything

APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: my current pc is dead so about 1 or 2 week

BUDGET RANGE: need good cost performance if it possible dont want more expensive than my current parts

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: gaming

OVERCLOCKING:no

SLI OR CROSSFIRE: i dont know what this mean so maybe no

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1280x1024 in windows and about 1024*800 when in game mode

The build that i thinking:
Processor: intel i7-870
Graphic:NVIDIA GeForce GTS250
Memory: 4GB memory (DDR3 SDRAM PC3-10600
Windows: XP service pack 3 (should i change to window 7?)

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
1. i dont have plan to add or change my pc parts in the future (need about 3-4 years long for gaming)
2. i normally play game in normal resolution (low to medium is ok)

Also note that LGA 1156 shall be usurped by LGA 1155 as soon as end of this year/possible Q1 next year if u intending to sink a wee bit on chip + board FYI...

At such low res i would think a GTS 250/HD 4850 and a Rana 440/445 would be more than adequate at a few hundreds cheaper @@
