What is the your weapon of choice (your programmable keys) for MMO gaming; the mouse, keyboard or gamepad? With the recent release of the new Razer Anansi, it got me thinking about which is the better way to go.

  • Do you go with a keyboard like the Razer Anansi, Ideazon Zboard Gaming Keyboard, or Logitech G11 and use their Macro functions?
  • Do you go with a mouse like the RAZER Naga or Microsoft SideWinder X8 and use their extra programmable keys?
  • Do you go with a GamePad like the Logitech Gamepad?

What is your weapon of choice for programmable keys!!

edit: After trying to get a poll to work for the third time... I decided to just make this a discussion thread!!

I don't play MMOs but when I did play them I used a Mouse + KB.

The only games where a mouse + KB doesn't do well is in flight sims (FSX,etc) and fighting/arcade (ie Brawl, etc) type games.

I think the question you are asking is more like "where do you prefer to have your programmable keys?"

I have to be honest here. I've tried to use the extra button on my G5 mouse, and I've tried to use the special keys on my G15 keyboard.

The only thing that has ever worked for me is a readily available normal key, like the tilde ~ .

So really I like simplicity. My next keyboard will be something like this:
