Singularity crashing before it even starts?

hi,
is anyone having a problem with singularity evne before it starts?
I attempt to start the game and it just crashes every time.

I have the latest ati drivers, all drivers updated, dx 11 reinstalled..nothing..
any ideas?

im running 980x
dual 5970 4 gig
12 gig ram..
all other games run great..except this and metro 2033..?

Hello
Have you tried running it in compatibility mode ? also try disabling the windows aero and check if it helps or not

Try removing one of the 5970's and give it a try. What PS do you have?

I have a 1200 watt power supply...
and I did remove one card, same thing..
its frustrating..

I even bought a copy from steam thinking that maybe the disc was bad..still no luck with this dam game..
I noticed it runs on dx9..but dx11 should run anything shouldnt it?

disabling aero. what would that do?


also do you guys know anything about armaII?
is that known to have performance issues? game looks pretty cool though

Yes it should run fine on DX11,you may want to wait for a patch,it may fix it
As for Aero,i have seen some users having problem running games and sometimes disabling the Aero has helped.
Arma II is good but its not good optimized,(i tested it only 5970 and got about 20-30 FPS only), i did a search and it seems many users have FPS problems with it

I have not had a problem with any game thus far running out of the box except for singularity..
its annoying..
the game looks good, but doesnt look AMAZINg though..

regarding arma 2, it looks really cool..like a realistic war sim..but i was surprised with a 5970 4 gig version that despite getting 40-50 fps on average it fluctuates a lot!

someone on these boards mentioned that the first game, while fun, was plagued with bugs the prevented it from being fully enjoyable..
even high end rigs had issues running the first one because it was just poorly written I guess..

im going to try and run metro 2033 and singularity w aero disabled..see what happens..
I cant figure out what else it could be..
ive got only a few apps in the background, 12 gigs of ram..
I thought it was my firewall doing something but I use a router no sw firewall..

so im at a loss..

Like i said,Arma II is poorly optimized,so don't expect great performance from it.
Let us know how it goes on Metro and Singularity

My friend can run Metro 2033 on max settings just fine with a 5850 CF.

What settings did your friend use and what was the resolution ? because Metro isn't very well optimized.
With a 5970 and DX11 enabled(with other settings maxed out),and on 1920x1200 resolution i manage to get 20-30 FPS, but as soon as i disable DX11 and its feature, my FPS goes to 50-60(I also did a search and found many users with the same results)

might you guys know why my metro all of a sudden crashes on the 4a logo screen? Ive tried all that I can think of, reinstlling, clearing cache, doing a clean driver install..
nothing..
the game was running GREAT..with full settings, with my 4 gig 5970, 50 fps ..
then one day, nothing..
I know this game has caused problems across the board due to the fact thats its a hog..kinda like crysis was..

any ideas?

I found a solution. I myself use an ATI graphics card.

1. Ran an integraty check of the game's cache
2. Shut down steam
3. Went to : http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx-9.14.0702-driver.html
4. Installed the physx software
5. Started Steam
6. Launched game and it worked

* I know that I have an ATI card, and that the physx drivers have no effect. Yet this solution worked for me.
