Acer Aspire L100 power switch

I've had this Acer Aspire L100 three years and recently my power switch started working only intermittently when I press it. This produces no bleep but some noise inside but no boot-up and no connection to the monitor. however, if I press and gently slide my finger down it seems to switch it on properly more often than not. So would it be a faulty switch, faulty connection? Where would I obtain a new switch please?

You should be able to obtain the switch from maplins/rs/farnell/radioshack or even ebay, you may need soldering iron to install the switch, you should be able to test the pc py getting to the switch panel and jumpering the connection between the power switch contacts with a piece of wire, if the unit powers up then the switch is at fault if the unit still remains intemittent then I would possibly blame the powersupply, but its most likely to be the switch.

Thanks for the advice. I might have to resort to getting someone else who can use a soldering iron though.
