Hello,
I have just added 4 gig of ram to my Packard Bell ixtreme m5800, so that it now has 7 gig of ram but it is now running slower??? I have used memtest software and it indicates no errors. I bought the memory from mrmemory.com. Anyone any ideas???

Do you mean you have 8gb total? That is still very weird though... What kind of memory is it? Maybe it's not compatible with your mobo, or your cpu, or both.

It now has 7 gig of RAM... This is the memory I got: 240 Pin DDR3 PC3-10600 1333MHz - It was the memory which the Mr Memory website said was compatible with my machine.

I presume when you say modules you mean the sticks of RAM???....There is 4, 3x2gig and 1 x 1 gig. It had 3 gig of ram to begin with....:??:

Yes you are correct. Here is what you do: run memtest with various combination of 2 sticks using the 2gb sticks. Ex use stick 1+2 then use 2+3 then use 1+3. make sure you put the pair in duall channel. Your mobo should have the ram slots color coded 2 of each color place them closest to the cpu or farthest depending what your manual says usually closest. If the tests are still positive test the 1gb stick alone. I think that might be the culprit. ps sorry for the long post.
