Search .php files

Some time ago, I was having trouble using Search to find phrases in .asp
files. Based on the help I received in this forum I finally:
1) added a PersistentHandler to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.asp
2) set to value of the PersistentHandler to
{5e941d80-bf96-11cd-b579-08002b30bfeb}, the text filter
3) denied permission for the SYSTEM to Set Value
That worked and I was able to search text in .asp files.

Now is need to search .php files, so I tried the same procedure for
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.PhP. Unfortunately that didn't work. Can anyone tell me
how to configure XP so I can find text in .php files?

Or maybe I'm asking the wrong question. Seach seems to have so many filters
that if you don't find something you never know whether or not it's been
filtered out. Is there some utility that will do a text search without all
of this filtering?

Hi,

My suggestion:

Do your searches with Agent Ransack (free)

Download it from here:

Agent Ransack works great. The text line display is a nice plus. Sure
beats all this fussing around with XP registry entries. Thanks for the
help.
