Hi,
I have a new Motherboard - MSI G31TM-P35. My CPU is a Core 2 Q8200 running at a standard 333Mhz (x4)
It has only 2 Ram Slots. I have a 2GB DDR2 800 stick in each. But one is CL5 and the other CL6.
In the BIOS the 'auto' memory speed downgraded them to run at 667. That was confirmed on CPU-Z as is the fact that it is running Dual Channel.
I can, and have, manually changed it to 800 but am confused as to why the 'auto' would select 667? Is it something to do with parity(multplier) with the FSB speed or am I missing something important - again?
Also, is there a problem running CL5 and CL6 together?
Finally, is there anything I should change to optimize the performance of the RAM?
