That for christmas I'm already wanting a recliner an ipod touch and a bunch of other stuff and my PC really isn't too bad it just needs to be update with some stuff so..

What do I need?

I currently have a Compaq Presario SR5130NX btw.

What I want to be able to do is multitask so do I just need to get up to 4GB of RAM, thats the max my pc can have I think and I have Vista btw.

and should I get Windows 7 too? but that would cost alot wouldn't it? if i got that I might as well get that inspiron I want though...


or does anybody know of a pretty cheap 200$ to maybe 300$ laptop that can multitask very well? with windows 7 too i hate vista.

Im not wanting a gaming rig or anything so the video card i don't really care about i just need something fast.

You'd probably be happier just getting a netbook. With a PC that old, it's not worth throwing any more money at it.

You think? He has a socket AM2 motherboard that supports up to the Athlon 64x2. If he has a single core now, that would be a pretty decent upgrade. And it will support 4GB when he gets that.
