soon im going to build another one of these
ATHLON II X3 445 3.1GHZ SKT AM3 L2 1 5MB 95W PIB
ASRock ALiveXFire-eSATA2 R3.0 Motherboard AMD
Gigabyte GV-R485OC-1GH ATI Radeon HD 4850 1024M...
DDR2 1GB PC800 NON-ECC CL6 DIMM x3
and i need to know what would have better performance
4gb ram and triple core cpu
or quad core cpu and 3gb ram

What quad core would you be going for? What is this system used for? If just for gaming the X3 and the X4 will perform very similarly, but if the X3 is clocked higher it will do slightly better. I would imagine that a 2x2GB kit would be cheaper than 3 1GB sticks of DDR2, just something to check.
