All of these drives are regular mechanical hard drives ? The bios on the motherboard has been updated recently ? Are there enough slots in the motherboard to list all of the drives and are there any dvd/cd drives ?

Yes they are all regular Sata drives and I have 6 Sata connectors on the mother board and 8 bays accessed from the front of the computer 2 spares and 6 Sata drives all are hooked up properly. I have to check on the bios from Super Micro. The DVD drive is Ide. but its not hooked up because it seems to be bad. The computer is a super Micro server 7045A-WT.

If you disable the IDE ports in your BIOS, do all 6 SATA drives appear then?
