System performance?

I recently custom ordered a computer from Ibuypower with an AMD Phenom quad-core 945 CPU, 8 GB 1600 RAM, and an ATI Radeon 5450 1 GB GPU. I know this will run relatively well (for the low price) but i want to know how well this will run games and on what settings (SC2, Crysis, MW2 etc.). I'm hoping this will allow me to run near max settings at a decent frame rate.

More about : system performance

Wow, that's just like my friend's HP computer lol, near exact specifications, just 1066 MHz instead of 1600 MHz RAM.

Unfortunately that Radeon HD 5450 is quite a weak graphics card, and SC2 should run fine on medium, I doubt it would run Crysis on high, maybe at lower resolutions, my friend plays with that system plays MW2 as well and he can play on medium to high settings or so at 1920 x 1080.

Turn off PhysX, disable AA, reduce resolution, reduce quality.
Just modify those options untill you get a decent fps.

The card will be holding you back. It is a weak card, but replace that and the system should be good to go at max settings.
If less than 1920 x 1080 resolution then a budget card like the 5770 would work. If using 1920 x 1080, ideally a 5850 would be great, but a GTX 460 (1gb) should do especially if OC'd

The 5450 does not really qualify as a gaming card. You can expect to perhaps be playable at 1280 x 1024 with lowered settings.
The rest of the system is very good. If you want to play games well, exchange the card if you can for something better.

What resolution is your monitor?

Unfortunately I'm not paying for all of this (only half) and I already have reached my budget limit. I'll probably pick up a better GPU when I get more money. I have an ACER H233H which is full HD with a 40000:1 contrast ratio and 5 ms response time. Not top of the line but it suits my needs. What websites are best to purchase individual components? I know newegg is pretty good but that's the only site I'm aware of.
