I recently bought a Black Magic Intensity Shuttle and found that it is not compatible with my system. It says that it requires a x58 or better board.

x58 is the 1366 intel boards that they are still pretty expensive to build. I want to build a 1155 system with the new i7 second generation processors.

The problem i am having is determining if H61 is better than x58?

Specifically this board: DH61WWB3 Socket 1155 mATX Motherboard

Can anyone tell me if H61 is better than x58 and if the above board will be compatible with the Intensity Shuttle?

Thanks Alot

No it will not work on h61 because it does not have the bandwidth. Black magic seems to have horrible support, no one knows if it works on 1155. If I were you I would return it for something better. Then fill out a new build template and we could help you pick parts. http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/261222-31-build-advic...

What style boards would qualify as being better than x58?

You can't say which is better. 1366 chipsets have tri channel but 1155 chipsets have a cpu with a newer microarchitecture. 1366 has a 6 core option 1155 only has a 4 core option as of now. There's bunch of other differences but one is not better than the other, they offer different features for different things. Fill out the form and I could see which is better for you.
