Can I use Unreal 1 mods and mutators in UT 1?

I've nearly finished playing all the maps I've downloaded for UT1.
One more quick play through of dm and dom maps to decide which ones to
keep for mini-Lanparty play.

But I've got all kinds of Unreal1 maps, too. And U1 doesn't play as
well as UT1, so I figure I'd throw those in too.

But many U1 maps require U1 mutators and mods which may not have been
updated. So will UT support most of the U1 mods and mutators as is?
Or do I have to hunt down UT versions?

(I noticed a railgun and a lightsabre. I don't think I have either
for UT. But then I haven't added weapon mods.)

This question was probably asked hundreds of times when the game was
initially released. And everyone knows the answer, except for those
who are afraid to ask.

Well, I don't know the answer. The only answer I can give you: why
don't you give it a try?

I doubt you'll be able to use them as the script for unreal is different
from UT1. All you can do is try and see.

There should be another "probably" in the second sentence. Oh well.

Some seem to work okay, and others cause the game to crash. Must
depend on what instructions are used.
