Hey guys,

My old x38 board burnt out and im looking for new hardware.

Right now im definitely buying a i5 750.

What i need is recommendations on a good priced overclocking board (preferrably h55) and ram.

I would like to spend no more than $400 if possible lol.

Oh and my pc use is %40 facebook, emails, etc.. and %60 gaming.

Thx!

Have you looked into getting the i5-760. It's only a few dollars more and it gives more potential for overclocking if you were ever thinking about that route

thanks for the ram recommendation! very good price on that.

i was wonder thought, about the asus board, ive read a lot of reviews concerning a whining noise coming from the board when overclocked, could that be an issue?

oh and nged im on a tight budget and the 760 is a little bit over, i might think about it though :)

The noise can't be true since the mobo doesn't have mobile parts.

U also can take a look of the i5-655k ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... ) that comes with unlock multiplier and is ore friendly to OC.

The i5-750 still be an option for the same price of the 655k

Hi everyone!

Just wanted to say, isn't a dual core NOT recommended anymore for gaming?? I was also taking into consideration the i5-750, but I'm confused, is it ok if its 2.66GHz? I thought you needed at least 3.0GHz CPU for gaming.

The i5-750 is a very solid CPU even with the 2.66GHz clock, but u can overclock it above 3GHZ without problems.
