AMD Athlon dual core V's Intel Celeron Single core

Sorry to bother you all.

WHich is better in a notebook for email, surfing, videos etc etc.

You would need to be more specific, but my guess would be the AMD dual core.

Those type of applications typically benefit more from higher # cores versus clock speed, so go with the Athlon Dual Core.

I was looking between the Toshiba Satellite T215D-S1150 and the Gateway EC1440U and the Acer Aspire One AO721-3574.

Unless there arre any recommendations I have not thought of !! :-)

this is just for email, surfing, some standard documents and watching movies so the HDMI was a must. and I had a budget of around $400.
