Hi, I'm newbies, this is first time i buy notebook. I'm looking for NEC Premium 1200DW..Does anyone have a review on this? or any personal experience? I hope that somebody can give me a comment or other suggestion..Thx. My budget is around $1400..
What features are important to you? At that price range you can afford a nice system but you will have to give something up. Are you looking for a desktop replacement with full features but kinda heavy or are you looking for a lighter machine that has long batt life?
The Sager 6120 is in your price range and is a good machine for what it is. For $1399 you could get one with:
14.1" XGA TFT Screen w/64MB DDR Shared
IntelĀ® PentiumĀ® 4 2.0GHz Processor w/512KB L2 Cache
256MB 266MHz DDR RAM / 30.0GB HD
Combo 8X DVD & 8x8x24 CD-RW
Internal 10/100, Ethernet & V.90 Fax/Modem
S/PDIF Output for DVD Content, USB Floppy Drive, Firewire
This is a nice system with a lot of features for money but it does have drawbacks. It is kinda heavy, batt life will suck and the 3d card is pretty bad meaning you will have low 3d mark scores. 2d stuff will scream.
I could not find any info on the 1200 only general info on the nec premium series. This is a cel or p3 machine correct? Using 16meg shared video correct? If so this machine will share the video problem or in fact be worse. A p3 will have longer battery life then a p4 but will of course run slower. Weights are similar.
Give me fuel, give me fire, give me that which I desire.
I got myself an IBM A30 1.1GHZ at ubid.com for $1200, very nice piece of electronics. Even it is only 16 megs ATI Radeon, but playing UT very smooth, and thats what I need besides business things. Very fast machine, for good money.
..this is very useful and helpful place for information...
Now i had found what i want..
i'm decided to buy a laptop which is not too heavy..
slim notebook are more suitable for me..
Thanks of all for your suggestion..^_^
