Hello,
my PC have athlon fx60 running at 2.6 ghz. it was a very very expensive one that time :(... but time goes by and it is already 4 years old. First coupled by nvidia 6800 and then upgraded to radeon 5850. and it still able to run latest game like cod mw2 and bfbc2 at a good framerate with some stuttering...

question. is my cpu is too weak to handle my graphic card? if so what will be the best cpu choice for hd5850?

Hi there. The athlon fx60 is the very old socket 939. To upgrade the CPU to anything worthwile you will need a new mobo (AM3 if your sticking with AMD) , DDR3 memory and the CPU. Depends on your budget.

Nothing worthwhile remains on that socket. Therefore you would need a new CPU/MOBO/RAM. A really good deal right now is the AMD Triple Cores:

Or the X4 955, which is usually $139.99, but just got its price raised, so it will go back down after a while. Intel would offer higher performance at higher cost though.

okay i will upgrade it then...

im not a hardcore gamer but i also use this pc for my daily tasks and also home theater.. i want the cpu to stay high-end for at least 4-5 years, i saw six core phneom for 200$ but my friend tells me that for gaming the phenom x4 is better. is it true??

he also said that i should wait untill the intel's sandy bridge or amd bulldozer, which will be released in the near future... now this is tough decision :)
