for procesor i thought about i5-760, but is it realy worth the 15 dollars extra over i5-750??

for motherboard i have allocated about 145 dollars and the boards that seemed suitable were....all are $140 after rebate
maximus 3 gene- i liked this the most but the vrm heatsink seems quite
small, will it have any drawback??
sabertooth 55i- it has more pwm than the maximus, will it help??
evga p55 sli
msi p55-gd65
which is better....i need durability, stability and overclocking potential...i also thought about gigabyte, but is their 2oc copper realy good or is it nothing??

for rams i have allocated about 100 dollars but cant decide which r the best....i also want to know which is better ocz or g.skill??

^ Will you be going SLI ? Have you considered the X4 955 ?

no plans for going sli......it will require a big psu i guess, in case of gtx460 sli....

^ looks good....but cud u plz state the reason of the sugestions compared to mine....
August 18, 2010 11:38:02 AM

^ The Seagate drives have abnormally high failure rates, and also this is just a mix match of combos, to take advantage of all the available combos thats all...

ok...how is this gigabyte board when compared to maximus and sabertooth??

and is it okay if i get open box products from newegg??
August 18, 2010 11:55:09 AM

cud anyone also tell me if sabertooth is better than maximus 3 gene or no??
August 18, 2010 11:59:46 AM

^^ Open box products? You should know that it wont come with any accessories especially the backplate which is very much needed...but its your call though...

As for the mobo - the Maximus and the sabertooth have SLI and Crossfire, but no USB3.0 or SATA 6GB/s if that matters...
IMO with any of those above mobos, you should be able to reach upto 4GHz if that is your main concern...

my main concern is durability and stability.....and quality....gigabyte has that extra copper but i wanted to find out whether it was of any practicle use or is it just a marketing strategy...

and is i5 760 worth the 15 bucks extra?? whts the difference between it and 750??
August 19, 2010 4:06:48 AM

^^ Well that extra copper does provide some benefits, but not significant though...so you can say its a bit of both marketing as well as little performance benefit...

The difference between the 750 and the 760 is the multiplier...If you are fine with overclocking, then you can stick with the 750...

ok....thanx man.....one litle thing....i ahave decided to drop gtx460 and get 2 gts250 512mb in much cheaper price and an xfx 650 xxx psu also at a high discount.....what do u say??
August 19, 2010 8:12:50 AM

^ Though 2x GTS 250 would be more powerful than the GTX 460, but you will loose DirectX 11...also more heat and higher power consumption I guess...but its your call though...
But the main factor is that the above Gigabyte mobo doesnt support SLI...If you want SLI, then either the Gene or the sabertooth but then again you will not have USB3.0/ SATA 6GB/s...
If you want SLI as well as SATA 6GB/s and USB3.0, then the ASUS P7P55D-E Pro would be the best option...

what do u say about gigabyte p55a-ud4p
August 20, 2010 6:46:50 AM

nd frankly, is usb 3 nd sata 3 realy important? M just a normal user who watches lots movies nd gaming...
August 20, 2010 2:34:42 PM

whats up with this usb 3 and sata 3 enabling thing with p55a-ud4p?? i didnt understand that......is it also same with p7p55de pro??

Simply put, in the Gigabyte board, if you will be using SATA 6GB/s or USB3.0, then the board to provide bandwidth to those ports, uses the PCIe x16's bandwidth, resulting in reduction of bandwidth for graphic cards(when in crossfire/ SLI)
But the ASUS uses a PLX bridge which overcomes this issue...

DONT USE GIGABITE!!! It crashed on me...It costed me 250 $.And my new one is a Gigabite 3classic .Just for your info IT DOESENT WORK FOR GAMING!!!
August 24, 2010 12:09:19 PM

^ Well I wouldnt literally bash Gigabyte on a whole...they are among the top mobo manufacturers...I have personally used 1 or 2 Gigabyte board till now and find it of very good quality...
DOA and failure can happen with any mobo, so maybe it was a bad luck yours had falied...
