Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forums here and I was hoping you all could help me out. I am stationed in Germany and am looking to build my first PC. I want to go Eyefinity once I get the system up and running. All I really want to do with it is game and search the interwebs. Here are my questions;
1. What is the cheapest system that I could build that would be good for three 24'' monitors in Eyefinity. My budget is around around 1500 but anything lower could help me get monitors faster.

2. Would there be a good boost if I added a SSD drive to this build? I'm not sure what they do and how they help.

I was thinking about getting the new IMAC 27'' but once I saw the eyefinity on youtube I thought, "that would be sweet!". I have a macbook already and like OSX but I'm ready to do some more gaming.

Thx,
Bumzy

For your budget, Dual GTX460s works fine also, Nvidia surround is like Eyefinity.
Or you could get a HD5870.

I feel more comfortable going the ATI route right now as that's all I've looked into. Will I see a big difference between the HD5870 and the 5970 now or in the future on triple 24 inch monitors?

This website should help, it is almost exactly what you are asking haha:

http://howtoeyefinity.webs.com/

They use vga to displayport adapter to save 75 bucks.
However i would get a better graphics card than him for 3 24in monitors.

hope this helps :)

Hey there, so from the sounds of things you may want to look into building your PC around these.

AMD 955 BE or 965 BE (Depends really if you plan on OC'ing or not; if not get 965 if yes just go 955)

And for the GPU... I'd say go for whichever you can fit into your budget once you choose your other components. 5870 or 5970

I'm not really doing much so let me see what I can throw together.

Total before Tax/Shipping: $1473.89

Now I am sure there are things that can be tweaked for a few dollars here and there, but this is just a general layout. I would of course research each and every component before you make your decision.

I cannot stress on how good combos are at newegg, hunt through them all, even if you have to go to the last page for soemthing you want. You can usually get a "free" item (may have super low shipping cost) through combos. Always good if you can't find two components you want in a combo, to just pick up some extra cables or a fan that you want that's in the "freebie" category.
